Cryptanthus fosterianus ‘Elaine’ | 5” Pot

Cryptanthus fosterianus ‘Elaine’, commonly called an Earth Star bromeliad, is a dramatic foliage plant with long wavy leaves marked by silver banding, deep chocolate-green tones, and vivid pink margins. The coloration becomes especially striking in bright filtered light.

This mature 5” specimen makes a strong statement on a plant shelf, tabletop, or mixed bromeliad display. Cryptanthus grow terrestrially rather than as epiphytes and gradually produce offsets around the base.

Care

• Light: Bright indirect or filtered light; some gentle morning sun is fine
• Water: Keep the potting mix lightly and consistently moist, but not waterlogged
• Humidity: Moderate to elevated humidity with good airflow
• Soil: Airy, moisture-retentive mix with excellent drainage
• Growth: Rosette-forming; produces pups at the base as it matures
