Pachypodium lamerei, commonly called Madagascar Palm, is a sculptural succulent from Madagascar with a thick, water-storing trunk, sharp spines, and a crown of long green leaves. Despite the common name, it is not a true palm.
You will receive one plant from this small batch in a 4-inch nursery pot. The photos are representative of the size and form of the available plants; natural variation between individual plants is expected.
- Light: Very bright light with several hours of direct sun when properly acclimated.
- Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the potting mix to dry well before watering again. Reduce watering during cooler or slower-growth periods.
- Soil: Fast-draining cactus or succulent mix.
- Growth: Upright, slow-to-moderate growth with a thickening spiny trunk and leaf crown.
- Temperature: Prefers warmth and should be protected from cold temperatures.
Good to know: Pachypodium contains irritating sap and has sharp spines. Keep away from pets and children and handle carefully.
Live plants naturally vary and may show minor cosmetic marks from normal growth, shipping, and handling.
